On Saturday, September 22nd, my mother, Arlene Alice Peck, went home to heaven at the age of 92. Mom’s passing is a very sad thing for all of us who have been deprived of her presence, yet there is a wonderful sweetness in rehearsing the many fond memories of her and in knowing the preciousness of her arrival in heaven.
There will be a funeral service on Friday, October 19th, 11:00 am, at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, Washington.
There will be an opportunity during the service to share a memory of Mom if you feel so led, or you can share a thought online at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/spokane-wa/arlene-peck-7999247 (scroll down to the “Memories and condolences” section).
Following the service, everyone is invited, and encouraged, to join us for a reception and meal here at the house, 4610 S. Bates Rd, Spokane Valley.
Mom was known for hosting friends and family with memorable get-togethers that always featured lots of food. I think the best way we can honor Mom is to use her house one more time as a place of good food and hearty fellowship, so come hungry and plan to eat big. A main course will be provided with plenty for everyone, but if you would like to bring a favorite dish, please feel free to do so as it will just mean more variety and more fun.
Please share the news with others as all are invited and I may have forgotten some or don’t have their contact information.
How sad it is to lose someone we loved so much.
How wonderful it is to have been blessed with someone so worth loving.
